A Little About Carla

Carla Jordan, RP, MSc.

Choosing to come to therapy can be the first step in a profound journey of discovery and transition. That first step requires courage and a willingness to be vulnerable, which can pave the way for greater health and wellness.

I am a registered therapist with a Master of Science in Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a postgraduate diploma in Addiction, Treatment and Prevention.

I have worked in several treatment settings, including short-term residential, long-term residential, outpatient, corrections and hospital settings.  In these roles, I have assisted clients with substance use, gambling, mental health, and family members.  I am trained in several evidence-based treatment modalities (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Motivational interviewing, etc.)

Throughout my 20 years of experience, I have been fortunate to be a part of many clients' journeys and witness transformation. The road of change is not easy; it can be windy and sometimes bumpy.  Staying on the road and continuing the journey takes strength and often requires a lot of support.  My goal is to walk alongside you, support you through life's struggles, cheer you on and on and celebrate your new path of wellness.  Feeling afraid, apprehensive or uncertain about where you want your road to lead is ok. We can work together to find your direction.  My approach to working with you will be collaboration and respect.

I am a mother to 2 living children and a stepmother to 2 adult children.  My children remind me daily of the power of persistence and facing fears.  They are not afraid to say they are scared, and they still take the risk of doing what is making them anxious.  They are grateful to have the safety to express their emotions, not to be judged, and to have support.  Even when they fall, or things do not go their way, they get up and eventually soar.

You are the expert on your life! I would be honoured to be a part of your journey.
